In the diaries, those people and things worth remembering all have their visible shapes or forms, and yet they are suffused with the same kind of invisible sentiments.

As we lay our adult eyes on the things of value in our daily lives, does it ever occur to us that they are very much alike the toys that taught us the basic knowledge about the world in our childhood? But are they really as clear as they appear to be?

Perhaps the most primitive meanings can only be felt with the child's state of mind.

It is the catalyst and it is the shot in the arm; it is the use of the useless and it is the self.

These distances between people and the world that are secretly marked out by scales have been engraved in our bones and become the real and yet unreal parts of ourselves with the passage of time. They are the real because everybody appears to be what the world wants them to be; they are the unreal because the things people kept in their hearts looked very different in the past.
