The small, weak, and lazy caterpillars are crawling on the ground. They repeat several rigid movements and go slowly forward. I can’t help but wonder: what does the road ahead look like in their eyes? Is their destination as clear as the human beings?

Like a ceremony, I try to simulate how caterpillars crawl on the ground. Before I started, I painted the caterpillar’s patterns on my hands and lied on my stomach. First, I kept the balance of my body with my palms and forearms fixated on the ground, then I hunched up my back with the help of my toes. I then moved forward on my palms and forearms until my whole body is back on the ground again. I repeated this movement for several times as I moved forward, and thus for a short couple of minutes I pulled myself away from the shell of a human and returned to the motion pattern of caterpillars.
